ANDREW MAFFETT
As the M&O Group`s General Manager, Andrew manages the M&O's global operations, and has responsibility for overseeing and coordinating the operations of the group`s 7 global regional offices. He is responsible for maintaining, upgrading and standardising all of the Group's course materials, for implementing the Group Quality Management System, and ensuring branches adhere to the Group Global Safety Standard (GSS).
Andrew also facilitates the development of new branch offices and training centres, working with local staff and partners to establish effective operating procedures, training venues and training courses. Through his worldwide network of training resources and personnel, Andrew is able to mobilise a training startup team to most global locations within 14 days.
Andrew's experience in safety training and emergency services includes roles with the National Safety Council of Australia, where he trained as an operational para-rescue officer before establishing and then managing the Land Search & Rescue Division. Prior to joining M&O Andrew operated his own Australian based training company, where he established 3 cutting edge training centres offering corporate leadership and team development training.
Andrew is acknowledged as a specialist in operations management, and with his commitment to quality and eye for detail, he brings great depth to the M&O management team.
DARRYN CHELLEY
Darryn Chelley commenced working for Marine & Offshore Group in 1999 and has since fulfilled several management roles, including General Manager of M&O Pacific, New Zealand and Training Manager of M&O Rutledge, Brazil.
With 14 years of multinational training experience, including contracts in New Zealand, UK, Dubai, Malaysia and Brazil, Darryn is renowned globally as a training management specialist. He has extensive background and experience in offshore health & safety, emergency response and safety management training, quality management systems implementation and maintenance, training centre management and competency assessment of industry standards such as NZQA, OPITO and STCW 95.
Darryn has the unique ability to identify, design and implement training packages to meet client and industry needs, thereby helping individuals and organisations achieve their training goals through a systematic approach. This skill requires a sound knowledge of relevant legislation, approved codes of practice and standards in day-to-day activities as well as a practical approach to the assessment of workplace management systems and the delivery of health, safety and environment management.
Darryn`s relevant industry qualifications include a Diploma in Safety Management, licensed NZQA Workplace Assessment (Assessor) and a Graduate of the Officer Cadet Military College, New Zealand Army with the rank of 2nd Lieutenant.
SEBASTIAN MRACI, MBA, MSc, BSc (Hon), BEd (Hon)
Sebastian is the technical director of Aussie Smart Systems Pty Ltd and the quality management systems consultant of Learning Energy International in Australia and the managing director of Zirku International Company, which specializes in proving technical and management consultancy, and professional training for many industries such as oil and gas, chemicals, automotive and food and pharmaceuticals.
Sebastian graduated as a chemist and received a double Bachelor of Science (Honors) and a Bachelor of Psychology (Honors) from La Trobe University. He then undertook postgraduate research studies and was awarded a Master of Science from the University of Queensland. In addition he also received a Master in Business Administration (MBA-Management Technology) from La Trobe University.
During his career of over 16 years he has worked in research and development, laboratory operations and as a senior technical executive. The work has covered Australian companies in the chemicals and automotive industries. He provides technical and management consultancy services to many chemical companies. Over the past five years he has developed and presented a range of training courses for personnel in the laboratory safety and operations, business improvements and safety programs, and leadership programs for many Australian companies and more recently in the Middle East such as Saudi ARAMCO, Qatar Water and Electricity and Abu Dhabi Distribution Company (ADDC).
The professional training programs are aimed at different levels of staff including basic and advanced training for sales and marketing and business improvements and operations and specialized courses for professional scientists and technicians. He has also presented introductory technical courses such as Metallurgy for non-specialists and management courses such as leadership for new managers, short-programs for MBA and strategies.

Richard Hawkins has been an international field operational lawyer advising environmental authorities on the content and enforcement of environmental management law and codes of practice in Hong Kong, the Republic of South Africa and Botswana,at the same time controllling companies financial liabilities in the UK, the UAE, and the Gulf States, through proper contractual and standard operating procedures for avoiding pollution damage.
A former official advisor for five years to the European Parliament,he was one of the Founder Members of the United Kingdom Waste Management Industry Training and Advisory Board (WAMITAB)and the U K Environment Law Association (UKELA) and has authored or co-authored five books including the Concise Lexicon of Environmental Terms,1st and 2nd Editions."
For 21 years he was also General Counsel in Redland and GKN, and in particular Cleanaway Ltd.
3.Environmental Management System

Program Description:
This Workshop is an introduction to Environmental Management Systems (EMS). It provides participants with the basic concepts and tools of Environmental Management Systems used at the corporate level, with a particular focus on the ISO 14001 EMS. Other voluntary initiatives such as Cleaner Production, Life Cycle Assessment and management will be introduced.

Dr. Al-Yousfi is the Acting Deputy Regional Director, Regional Technology, Industry & Economics Officer at the United Nations Environment Program in West Asia. He has a Ph.D. and an M.S in Environmental Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, USA and a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the University of Aleppo, Syria. Dr. Al-Yousfi is Board Certified by the American Academy of Environmental Engineers. His career prior to the UN includes collectively ten years in the international chemical industry, and Professorship at the University of Central Florida and Marshall University, USA. He is the Associate Editor of the Journal of the American Society of Civil Engineers, has over 50 publications, and received several international awards.
Mr. FAREED BUSHEHRI
Programme Officer (Halon)
Mr. Bushehri holds an MSc. in Occupational Health and Safety, BSc in Industrial Engineering, and a Diploma in Fire Protection & Engineering. He began his professional carrier with Kingdom of Bahrain's Civil Service, where he established the Occupational Health & Safety Unit for the Public Sector, and was instrumental in drafting and issuing rules and regulations concerning this field. He then joined Bahrain Petroleum Company, where he worked in the oil refinery in the field of Safety and Fire Protection. Mr. Bushehri then moved to Bahrain Telecommunications Company, to join the Risk Management Team, where he was responsible for Safety, Fire Engineering, Environment and Insurance. This is where Mr. Bushehri gained valuable experience in halon management, researching halon alternatives and installing new replacement fire systems.
MELANIE HUTCHINSON
Associate Programme Officer
Melanie has a Masters in Environmental Analysis and Dynamics from the University of Hull (UK) and 10 years work experience in the environmental field, primarily working with industry on environmental management systems (both BS7750 and ISO14001). She has also spent 18 months working in Malaysia, primarily on Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) for water resource projects but also in the development of a monitoring and environmental management programme for the country’s first waste treatment facility.
Since joining UNEP/ROWA, she has been involved in the implementation of the regional programme as a whole and more specifically in the development and implementation of the successful Programme to Improve the Participation in Certified Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and Build Capacity for their Implementation throughout the West Asia Region. This programme involved training over 120 companies in how to implement an EMS. Melanie has also represented UNEP at a number of different meetings providing training workshops and presentations on EIA, water management in the region and UNEP’s Clean Fuel Initiative.
